Citing Sources and Plagiarism
When you are writing a research paper, article, or doing professional research it is important to cite the person's name or the location where you received the information to give proper credit to the author of the idea or phrase. It is not right or legal to pass off someone else's hard work as your own and be known for it, but people do it every day. Now a days, not only are written documents being copied but plagiarism also goes as far as music and movies. Rappers music and movie producers ideas are also being used without being given the proper credit. The Internet makes it easier for people to get information and copy right from the comfort of their own homes. If someone took credit for something that I worked really hard on, I don't know what I probably would do. I probably would cry. I would take them to court, which probably couldn't reverse the damage the person already caused. These days it is easier to patent your ideas and copyright your work. I glad someone thought of that.
